With each sporting their own diverse abilities, the thought of their play styles fill you with excitement instead of dread at each character swap. DMC4 in 2008 remedied this slightly by making both playable characters, Nero and Dante, equally fun to play as but was fumbled by making the latter having to repetitively repeat the levels of the former.ĭevil May Cry 5 seems to have finally found that magic formula in balancing multiple characters. 2003’s DMC2 campaign was split into two playthroughs between Dante and unnecessarily boring character, Lucia.

Sharing the spotlight of playability has been a stumbling block for the series in the past. Nero, who takes up the leading majority of the gameplay, is a welcome return since his introduction in Devil May Cry 4. In a campaign that’s quick to the punch from start to finish, you’re taken through 20 missions, shifting back and forth between playing as Nero, V and Dante. It kicks down the door of today’s gaming era and declares loudly that the DMC everyone knows and loves is proud to be back. Thankfully, Devil May Cry 5 repays the fans’ decade of patience in spades with what’s the best entry in the series. Bloody Palace will be out April 1st so let's see if that's any good.Listening to main soundtrack Devil Trigger, on repeat since it’s E3 reveal, I’ve been in a limbo of hype for the last nine months, hoping this return to an adventure with Nero, the original Dante and new protagonist V, would be worth such a long wait. This is a huge bug that made me replay the campaign 2 more times.

One huge bug that has cropped up is that force quits or game crashes corrupts and deletes your saves, including all your golden orbs from logins and stylish appraisals. i would recommend the team to look at trainers available for previous games to see what players really want to use. I would also like the void to be a bit more refined.

Other stuff also appreciated would be native PS4 Controller support on PC, like Yakuza has so far. And it shouldn't have the cutscene replay if you select restart mission. Mission 19 and 20 shouldn't have a checkpoint option. There's no cancerous walking segment or tons of cutscenes to screw your pace over BUT i would like some missions to have faster checkpoints and reload times. More levels would be my priority after Bloody Palace and more playable characters. The coop sections are really cool but only 2 missions really use that feature and it's impossible to train coop combos reliably.

Some more graphical options would be really appreciated too. Devil may cry 4 had multiple camera modes and i'd like to see a return of those. Voice acting is pretty good, and the performance is great, running on 120+ fps on older hardware.

The story is kinda campy, over the top and totally capcom, but it's still a great time. Nothing is ground breaking or out of this world but Its quality combat and core fighting mechanics make this a great iteration of Devil May Cry. Nothing is ground breaking or out of this world It's just a great sequel to an action game franchise that improves and expands on the formula. All in all I highly recommend the game to anyone who is a fan of the genre, this is definitely going to be a GOTY contender for 2019. Fans of the series will feel right at home, new players may be a little confused at first, but I am sure YouTube by now has a "everything you need to know before playing DMC5" or something to catch you right up.
#V DEVIL MAY CRY 5 PC#
The game is very well optimised on PC, no signs of a generic "PC port" and actually feels like they put in effort in for the PC community. Capcom are doing a great job at the moment with both their remakes (Resi 2) and new games (this). The combat is slick, the story is great, Dante is exactly how you expect Dante to be years after DMC 3/4, there is just no aspect of the game that hasn't been improved on.
